Albion Way Subway Entrance Christmas Illustrations
An Illustration Brief for the Horsham District Council. The relationship between the park and the town centre in Horsham and the short connection between them is a major asset and deserves to be highlighted strongly and consistently. HDC commissioned me to design a set of artworks to promote the winter experiences you encounter when in Horsham town and park. Thereby helping to make the connection between the park and the town centre an ongoing feature and most importantly ‘talking point’. I created the designs with watercolour and refined the drawings with pen. I wanted to capture the essence of a magical quintessential vintage Christmas within my designs, something to make people stop and smile. I decided to include actual events that would be taking place in Horsham over the Christmas period. I used anthropomorphism for my animal characters. Working with HDC we aim to create merchandise from these designs to be sold over the showing period. These could be Christmas cards, Button badges, Tea Towels, advent calenders and Puzzles. Below I have shown a few close-up images of the final illustrations as a sneak peek as these designs will not be used until Christmas 2018.
